Go to the Pollok Country Park !

Glasgow’s largest park and the only Country Park within the city - features the impressive Pollok House as well as the renowned Burrell Collection. It is located in Pollok, in the south of Glasgow.
The park was voted Best Park in Britain 2007 and Europe's Best Park 2008. Its extensive woodlands and gardens provide a quiet sanctuary for both visitors and wildlife.

Pollok House is one of Glasgow’s most elegant family homes and was built by successive generations of the Maxwell family, who are known to have lived at Pollok since 1269. The house contains an outstanding collection of Spanish art and the tea room is worth visiting too. I didn’t enter into the castle because it wasn’t free but you can just enjoy the landscape!
In front of the castle there is a gorgeous garden, a little river and a bridge, so cute !

The Burrell Collection is named after its donor,  Sir William Burrell. It features artworks from all corners of the globe and the range and diversity is impressive. His award-winning building houses a unique collection in a beautiful woodland setting. The collection is one of the greatest ever created by one person, comprising over 8000 objects!

There is a lot to do here ! You can take a dray ride with Clydesdale horses or organise a cycle trail and many walks and most of all you can admire the Highlands cows !!
You can spend the all day so bring a picnic, it will be more pleasant.
I went there with some friends of mine and we had a delightful leisurely walk through this park, there were a lots of wildlife to observe. Really quiet and peaceful atmosphere :)

Of course I recommend you to go there when it’s a beautiful and warm day!
