You absolutely have to go there. This place is only at 1 hour by train of Glasgow so no excuses.
The Loch Lomond is the largest freshwater of Great Britain, contains many islands and it’s situated in the south of the Highlands.

You can stay here for the week-end and book an hostel or just enjoy a great day. There are so much things to do !
- What can you exactly do?
First, you can have a walk in the mountains or just around the lake, there are some awesome views!
You can also visit a boat, located in Balloch (the place where you arrive by train) and have a drink inside, that’s really nice :)

There is a castle in the heights of Balloch where you can admire a beautiful view of the Loch Lomond too.
Besides, 20 minutes from Balloch, there is a place called « Duck Bay », here you can drink a coffee or hot chocolate on the dock in front of the lake :)

To do all this things you can either walk or rent a bike (just 10min from Balloch, near to the lake).
The use of bikes is really great because you can visit so much things!
Besides there are some tandems! This is more funny when you are a group of 2 or 4 people.
This is the Link of a website about the Loch Lomond, you will find more informations about the activities, place to eat, drink, shop and the group visits.
I recommend to you to go with some friends and to spend the all day to visit the lake in bike (or tandem), then to have a stroll in the mountains and to finish to have a drink in Duck Bay (when the weather is nice that’s better of course).
Hope this post tempted you to go there :)
