Glasgow is seen as one of the best destinations to go shopping in the United Kingdom, just behind London.
There is a route in Glasgow which people called « The golden Z », it is the paradise for shoppers. It begins from Argyle Street to Buchanan Street, and then to Sauchiehall Street (in the heart of the city).
Buchanan Street |
This area is really festive and jovial, you can find a lot of musicians playing different kind of music all along the route and there are mostly pedestrianised ways.
So, the main shopping malls are :
- Buchanan Galleries (at the very top of Buchanan St): classic and modern shopping mall with approximately 90 famous stores such as H&M, Mango, Fred Perry, Swarovski…
Buchanan Galleries |
- St Enoch centre (down to Buchanan st): the largest shopping centre in Scotland and Europe’s largest glass structure. You will find a wide variety of shops such as famous clothes stores, food, toy store…
St Enoch Centre |
- Prince’s Square: the most fashionable and elegant shopping centre. Here, you can find some designer clothes, exclusive boutiques, stylish cafes and bars under a Art Nouveau glass roof (you’ll understand prices are a little bit more expensive than the first two).

Without going in a shopping centre you can walk on Buchanan St, Argyle St and Sauchiehall St and find many (many, many) famous stores, these streets are the most known shopping street in Glasgow!
Besides, you can find some charity shops almost everywhere ! These are stores which sell second-hand items and all the profits of sales are put back to charities (so go there it’s a good deed :) )

But my main advice for shopping is to go in the city, walk around and go to find out for yourself!! (you’ll discover more than you could imagine)
Have a nice shopping !
Well done
